6/4 Blog 9: The End...?

It's really hard to believe that these weeks have already passed by. It seems like only yesterday when I was struggling to play some simple notes. Wait, that actually WAS yesterday. Forget I said anything.

Something as simple-sounding as learning the keyboard was not simple whatsoever. It involved diving head-first into an area I had little-to-no experience in. Thanks to Mr. McDaniels and Mr. Perlman, my keyboard has finally come out of hiding and it will continue to stay in use. I would also like to express a final thank you to my readers for keeping me motivated throughout these weeks.

Anyways, just looking at my goal and what I accomplished, I did very well at tackling this. I did well beyond what I had imagined, but that may have been due to my low expectations. This project has also brought to my attention a few things that I need to work on, as I outlined in my TED Talk (watch it if you haven't 😠). Firstly, it helped me realize my flaws in planning. I can now see the importance of an outline that's able to change as I progress, whether it’s quicker  or slower than expected. This journey also highlighted how necessary it is to enjoy what I learn to play, because if I don't, it will only end up causing frustration and ultimately hinder my pace.

This project has gifted me valuable lessons and information about myself that I will hold on to and use in the future. This is by no means the end to my keyboard journey for I will continue practicing and learning songs I love. It is, however, the end to my blog posts. With a heavy heart, I must say goodbye!
